A garagekeeper or towing firm can also enforce a lien directly under § 55-16-107 with a written police waiver, either through repair-lien rights under § 66-19-103 if work was actually done on the car, or by following the same § 55-16-106 sale process if it wasn't, and any sale has to be conducted in a commercially reasonable manner or the firm is exposed to damages.
